Dear Hazel,
You may not realize it but you’ve just changed your parents’ lives and the lives of everyone who loves them.
Every time they look at your face they’ll be overcome with love. Your mom may sneak into your room a few times in the middle of the night and touch your chest to feel your breath filling your lungs. Your grandparents will spoil you. Your aunts and uncles will teach you things only aunts and uncles can teach.
When you say your first words they’ll shout them from the rooftops.
When you take your first steps they’ll swell with pride.
When you say “I love you” for the first time their hearts will melt.
